Discover My Signature Tours
Step beyond the ordinary and explore Split with a local historian with a MA degree in History and in Medieval Studies from two different universities. With over eight years of experience working as a tour guide, I’ve crafted my signature tours to go beyond the usual fact-centric stories and to share with you a cohesive story of my hometown of Split.
Whether you join me on the immersive Medieval Tour or opt for the more classic Heritage Tour, each experience is built on a foundation of solid research, genuine passion, and a love for storytelling.
Wearing the traditional red cap once common in old Split, I guide every tour with the aim of bringing history to life—making it engaging, personal, and truly memorable. Come walk with me and discover a side of Split most visitors never get to see.

Medieval Tour of Split
Everyone comes to see Diocletian’s Palace—but what happened after the Romans? This unique tour takes you off the well-worn path and into the heart of Split’s lesser-known medieval past.
We’ll walk the same streets where fifteenth-century merchants once made their fortunes, and uncover the forgotten stories that shaped the city long after the empire fell. From the arrival of the Mongols at the city gates to the Black Death that decimated the population, this tour dives deep into the drama, resilience, and transformation of medieval Split.
You’ll hear how a king set off for the Crusades from the harbor, how Venice finally conquered the city, and how ordinary citizens—rich commoners and noble families—struggled for power, dignity, and survival. We’ll explore details hidden in plain sight: a metal-devouring ostrich, mysterious stones pierced with ancient holes, and traces of long-forgotten everyday life etched into the city fabric.
This tour isn’t just about facts—it’s about stories. Rebellions, dowries, power struggles, and the dramatic arrival of the Ottomans that changed everything. If you want more than a postcard version of Split, this is the tour for you.

Heritage Tour of Split
Step into the heart of Split with this locally guided walking tour that brings the city’s long and layered history to life. Centered around the awe-inspiring Diocletian’s Palace, this tour goes far beyond the usual postcard stops.
Together, we’ll explore ancient Roman cellars, medieval alleys, and architectural details often missed by casual visitors. You’ll hear how a Roman emperor’s retirement home slowly transformed into a bustling city, shaped by centuries of change—from the Middle Ages to the Venetian Republic and beyond.
We’ll pause in the echoing Vestibule to hear the haunting harmonies of klapa singers, keeping a centuries-old musical tradition alive in the palace itself. We’ll also visit the oldest working pastry shop in Split, a sweet link to everyday life across generations.
Along the way, I’ll share the story behind the traditional red cap I wear—once a common sight in Dalmatia—and how it ties into the local heritage and identity.
Led by a passionate local historian, this tour offers a rich, personal introduction to Split—ideal for history lovers, curious travelers, or anyone looking to experience the real city behind the stone walls.
